Heydy Day is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish. She is trained as a Victim Services Practitioner and in the Radar and Huntsville Models of Forensic Interviewing. Additionally, Heydy serves as the Spanish Interpreter for families and children who need Spanish interpretation during investigative appointments.
Heydy joined The Dragonfly House Children's Advocacy Center in July 2012 as the Child Advocate and was promoted to Victim Services Director in January 2018. In her current role, she supervises the Forensic Team during investigative appointments. Heydy is also trained as a backup for both the victim advocate and forensic interviewer roles and assists the medical provider when the nurse is unavailable.
Heydy is driven by her passion for supporting families and children through some of the most traumatizing and difficult times in their lives. She finds fulfillment in helping them discover their voice and confidence through education, support, and empathy.
When not at work, Heydy enjoys spending time outdoors exploring nature with her dog Bailey and her husband Matt.
