How To Help

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT TO END CHILD ABUSE.

Stories about children being abused are heartbreaking. These children need our help and support, and at The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, our nonprofit exists to help child abuse victims in our community and put an end to this devastating, long-term issue.

There are several ways to give to child abuse victims and make a difference in the lives of the children we serve and support. Here are two:

  1. Make a monetary donation—We welcome donations of any size. These donations allow us to continue to provide high-quality, comprehensive services to the children we serve. Through estate and planned giving, you can create a legacy of hope and healing. Planned gifts can offer a way to make a more significant impact and to create lasting change for the children and families we serve. Donations can be made via credit card by clicking the “Donate Now” button on our website or via cash or check to 387 Valley Road, Mocksville, NC  27028.
     

    • Legacy Giving - Qualifying legacy gifts include:

      1. Gifts through a will or trust

      2. Beneficiary designations from a retirement account or bank account, or life insurance policy​​

      3. Charitable remainder trusts

      4. Charitable lead trusts

      5. The creation of a fully endowed fund​

      6. Lifetime Income Gifts

      7. 401K 
         

  2. Outright Gifts of Property—Provide details of your property, the address, type of property and square footage.  We shall run a standard review on the property, including title search, tax and lien search and environmental violations search to determine if the charity can accept your property. We shall send the closing documents to you for signing. We will take care of the deed transfer and recording, notifying all necessary state and municipality authorities to complete the transfer. We will take over all taxes, maintenance and insurance responsibilities, and send you a tax-deductible receipt.
     

  3. Volunteer your time—We have several staff members at our advocacy center, but they could not fully support the children we help without the continuing help of our volunteers. If you are looking for ways to give to child abuse victims, a donation of your time is an invaluable gift.
     

  4. Link your Amazon account to AmazonSmile—If you are not already an AmazonSmile member, simply sign up at smile.amazon.com and select your favorite charity to start generating donations, at no cost to you. Through your phone, open the app and find ’Settings’ in the main menu (☰). Tap on ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.  Search "Dragonfly House", our agency will pop up, and you will select it as your charity of choice!
