The Dragonfly House Honors the Statewide Recognition of Child Advocacy and Protection
We are proud to share that Governor Josh Stein has officially proclaimed April 28, 2025, as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in the state of North Carolina. This day serves as an important acknowledgment of the vital work that Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) like The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center perform every day in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma.

Children’s Advocacy Centers provide safe, supportive, and trauma-informed spaces where children can share their stories and begin the healing process. With more than 50 accredited CACs across North Carolina, this proclamation underscores the state’s unwavering commitment to protecting its youngest citizens and ensuring they have access to justice, support, and care.
From the Governor’s Office
In a powerful declaration, Governor Josh Stein affirmed:
“Now, Therefore, I, Josh Stein, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do hereby proclaim April 28, 2025, as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in North Carolina, and commend its observance to all citizens.”
This statement reflects the state’s recognition of the crucial role CACs play in North Carolina’s child protection system and encourages all residents to join in the observance and support of this meaningful work.
